As heroin consumption rates increased a then serving NYPD cop tells the tale of he inevitable:A Washington Heights native who retired as a lieutenant after a legendary 40-year career in the NYPD, Panzarella was known to other cops as "Sundance" after the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He says people came from five states to buy heroin in Harlem. "There were a lot of good, hardworking people who wanted drugs off the streets, but it was just a losing battle. There was so much of it," says Panzarella, chewing on his trademark cigar butt one day in May as he sprayed the lawn of his suburban Long Island home to get rid of a horde of bugs. "It just drained the lifeblood out of Harlem, where there was no money to be made except off drugs."http://www.citylimits.org/news/articles/4389/heroin-from-the-civil-war-to-the-70s-and-beyond
As more and more blacks became hooked on heroin, wasting productive lives, falling into the prison industry/judicial system the architects of chaos decided to replicate the tactic in the 80s;this time in LA on the West Coast.
Ostensibly the intent was to fund the Contras in their war with the Communists rulers of Nicaragua by allowing them to import cocaine which was turned then into crack by local street gangs. Crime reached such levels ,much of inner city America resembled war zones by the early 90s. Indeed, many observers wondered if this weren't the CIA's true intent.
The evidence is so overwhelming the truth actually reached the mainstream media,a rare occurrence,as they are complicit with their owners in hiding truth as 'conspiracy theory'. In 1996,Gary Webb an exceptional journalist with the San Jose Mercury, revealed the whole CIA/drug gang/crack/Contra story here:
"For the better part of a decade, a Bay Area drug ring sold tons of cocaine to the Crips and Bloods Street Gangs of Los Angeles and funnelled millions in drug profits to a Latin American guerilla army run by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, a Mercury News investigation has found.http://www.whale.to/b/dark_alliance.html
This drug network opened the first pipeline between Colombia's cocaine cartels and the black neighborhoods of Los Angeles, a city now known as the "crack" capital of the world. The cocaine that flooded in helped spark a crack explosion in urban America -- and provided the cash and connections needed for L.A.'s gangs to buy automatic weapons.
It is one of the most bizarre alliances in modern history: the union of a U.S. backed army attempting to overthrow a revolutionary socialist government and the Uzi-toting "gangstas" of Compton and South Central Los Angeles."--Gary Webb From the introduction to the original Dark Alliance website, August, 1996
Incidentally Mr. Webb paid the ultimate price for his sterling work when he 'suicided' in 2004,shooting himself twice in the head,a warning to any future investigators.
For many, Webbs exposes come as not shocking but unwelcome news. "But what about the DEA/LAPD/NYPD/DA's office,?" the simple minded yelp. As relentless consumers of American advertising via TV/film and books we've internalised the unconscious memes of the continuous barrages and are subtly brainwashed so some will cling to their misconceptions even in light of obvious contradictory facts. "America is clean and honest! Its not the 3rd world like Kenya/Zimbabwe or Nigeria."
To which I'd say,"put down the crack pipe."
Here is CIA director John Deutch in 1996 LA. He was challenged with overwhelming evidence on agency drug dealing and admitted it.
